Marcia Nancy Fife, 80, of Austin, Texas, passed away unexpectedly on August 25, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of warmth, wisdom, and a deep love for nature. Born on June 8, 1945, in Navasota, Texas, to Nancy and Diemer Fife, Marcia lived a life marked by kindness, generosity, and an enduring curiosity that touched all who knew her.
A dedicated educator and devoted mother, Marcia inspired young minds with her passion for teaching and nurtured her family with boundless love. Her commitment to her community was evident in her active involvement with the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center, ZACH Theatre, Paramount Theatre, Austin Symphony Orchestra, and other Austin organizations, where her enthusiasm for nature and the arts thrived.
Marcia’s vibrant spirit found joy in the natural world, whether tending her garden, delighting in the beauty of bluebonnets, or exploring distant corners of the globe through travel. Her wealth of knowledge and generous heart made everyone she met feel valued. Her love for nature shone through in her backyard oasis, where she welcomed a myriad of animal visitors with open-hearted delight.
She is survived by her children, Christopher Musgrave, Stephen Musgrave, and Sharon Musgrave-Besic, and her beloved grandsons, Dominic, Julian, and Ethan, who filled her life with immeasurable joy.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to any of Marcia’s loved organizations or one close to your heart.
