Marcia Piwarzyk

Marcia Piwarzyk, 78, of Middletown, CT, passed away peacefully July 18th after a long battle with Alzheimer's Disease, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, adventure, and creativity. Born in Nashua, NH and raised in West Hartford, CT, Marcia nurtured a deep love for photography, education, and travel-passions that shaped her life and brought joy to those around her. Whether she was spending time at the beach or enjoying a show at a local theater, Marcia embraced life's simple pleasures with wonder and warmth.
A proud graduate of the University of Connecticut and CCSU, Marcia dedicated her professional life to inspiring others through education. She taught for many years at Gateway Community Technical College, touching countless lives through her thoughtful guidance and compassionate spirit.
She is survived by her beloved companion Jim Reddington; her children Brian (wife Eileen) and Alyson (husband Mario); and her cherished grandchildren Dominic, AJ, Tony & Brandon. Marcia was predeceased by her parents, Clement and Dorothea Roy, and her brother Kenneth. She is also lovingly remembered by her brother Alan (wife Kathy), nieces and nephews, her best friend Alice, and her former husband Peter.
Family and friends are invited to a wake on Monday, July 28th from 5–7 p.m. at Molloy's Funeral Home 906 Farmington Ave, West Hartford. A funeral Mass will be held Tuesday, July 29th at 10 a.m. at St. Thomas Church, 872 Farmington Ave, West Hartford followed by interment at Mt. St. Benedict Cemetery in Bloomfield. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Marcia's life.
The family wishes to thank the caring staff at The Atrium at Rocky Hill, and Marnie and Trish from Trinity Hospice, for their compassion and dedication. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association in Marcia's memory.
