Marcia Louise Shaver was born on August 22, 1937, in Eldora, IA, the daughter of Noran Robert and Myrl (Herndon) Shaver.Marcia married Robert Schradle in 1954, with whom she welcomed two children, Heather of Aurora, CO and Lane of Charles City, IA. She happily married to Dale Floyd from 1994 until his death in 2008.Marcia was an accomplished self-taught artist and known for the many birthday and wedding cakes she baked and decorated, but anyone who knew her was well aware of her love for Milking Shorthorns. She showed her first Milking Shorthorn at the Iowa State Fair when she was just 5 years old. Later, following in her father's footsteps, she was elected to the American Milking Shorthorns Society (AMSS) Board of Directors for two terms. She took pride in the fact that she judged dairy cattle at 13 state fairs as well as the World Dairy Expo in Madison, WI, and even Australia. Additionally, she received the AMSS Citizen of the Year, the Iowa State Fair Dairy Sportsmanship Award and was honored by the Iowa State University Dairy Science Club.Left to cherish her memory are her two children Heather (Russ) Paper of Aurora, CO and Lane (Sigrid) Schradle of Charles City, IA; five grandchildren Derek (Carrie) Paper of Blair, NE, Brandon (Renee) Schradle, Jesse (Lindsey) Schradle, Ben (Tiffany) Schradle of Ottumwa, IA, and Kristin (Rob) McNeese of Britt, IA; 16 great grandchildren Charlie, Ellie, Lilah and Sadie Paper, Wyatt, Claire and Elizabeth Schradle, Devon Breed, Camden and Kinsley Schradle, Elena and Archer Schradle, Aiden, Graysen, Emmersyn and Palmer McNeese; one great great-granddaughter Rylie Breed; and her sister Patricia Sue Casey of Marshall, MI; along with a number of other relatives and friends.Preceding her in death were Marcia's parents, husband Dale Floyd, brothers Laurence "Peck" Shaver and Harold "Red" Shaver and sister Phyllis Muzzy.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the family, designated to the American Milking Shorthorn Society.

I was sad to just recently see that Marcia has gone on in her journey. We will greatly miss her. Have known Marcia and family for many years. Our daughter stayed with her a night or two at the fair to help as did many young children who loved the farm animals and they loved helping Marcia with her cows. Through the years Marcia gave us many wonderful pieces of her artwork which have been much enjoyed. Tom and I as well as our children loved visiting her at the farm and she always insisted on having something good to eat ready for us. She was a true woman of hospitality! Marcia was kind and gentle. She loved her family. She was a wonderful friend. Sue Simmons
