Marcial Ingal Obituary
Dr. Marcial S. Ingal, a beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend, passed away suddenly on Sunday, November 9, 2025, at the age of 89. Born on October 13, 1936, in Manila, Philippines, he was the cherished son of Adelardo and Isabel Ingal. He was one of four siblings: Rosita Ingal Sunglao, Zosima Ingal Batac and Oscar Ingal and loving Uncle to many nieces and nephews.
Marcial pursued his medical education at Southwestern University in Cebu, Philippines, where he earned his Doctorate in Medicine. In 1970, he moved to the United States with his family, where he dedicated himself to helping others. He also helped many new families navigate their own transitions to a new life in the US. His compassion, guidance and support made a significant difference in the lives of many.
Known for his generosity, warm and charismatic personality, Marcial was a father who instilled discipline and achievement in his children. He was an avid sports fan, passionately supporting Ohio State and Cleveland teams which he shared this enthusiasm with family and friends alike. He was an enthusiast in horse racing and his optimistic outlook made him the perfect coordinator of the lottery group. He also had a streak of creativity as he delved into his arts and crafts skill set, building Christmas Filipino parols. In his later years, coin collecting fueled his curiosity, and he delighted in sharing the history and stories behind each piece with those around him.
Marcial is survived by his loving wife and best friend, Alina Ingal (née Abesamis), with whom he shared 61 wonderful years of marriage. He was a devoted father to four children: Andy Ingal (Michelle) of Cincinnati, OH; Marcial Ingal, Jr. of Rocky River, OH; Raymond Ingal (Jeannie) of Walnut, CA; and Bernadette Adams (Keith) of Kennesaw, GA. He was also a proud grandfather to his grandchildren: Rachel, Brady, Joshua, Jared, Keaston, Kaylin and a great-grandfather to Vienna.
Marcial's legacy of kindness, compassion to family, friends and community will be remembered by all who knew him. He leaves behind a rich tapestry of memories that will continue to inspire and bring joy to those he loved.
