Once again I was thinking about Marco recently, as I often do driving past his house. Marco was a kind soul ready to offer of himself as you may need and there was a calmness and peace just being in his company. He was great fun around the golf course and we still miss him. Until that time my friend.

I am so positive that Marco and Tim have found each other in heaven and are reminiscing the good old days. If heaven has a golf course, they are sure to be playing. Missing two wonderful men, husbands, fathers and grandfathers!

Mary, Stacy, Jessica, Allison, and families,
My family's prayers are with you all. When I remember back to the LaBonne neighborhood days, Marco was the steady and hard-working influence that so many have shared in other posts here and elsewhere. Though my direct interactions with him were few, he left a lasting impression, and to this day I don't know another man who had so much presence with such a quiet voice. And I mean that in the most positive ways. I understand what you are going through, but know that is of little solace today. I wish I could have been there today to let you know all of this in person. If I or my family can be of any assistance in the coming weeks and months, please do reach out. Much love. It's been awhile since I've seen you but I was devastated to hear this news as if I had just seen you and Marco yesterday. I don't know what happened, if it was sudden or if Marco was ill. If he was ill, I'm sorry to not have known about it such that I could've sent my good wishes. If it was sudden I can only wish you my condolences and love. Anyone who ever knew Marco had the same view of him, which was that he was universally thought of as one of the best guys anyone had ever known. I'm grieved for your loss, and all of your offspring, and all the Clarke's, who I know loved Marco as if he were their own blood. I'm truly sorry that I will never again see him. Send him my highest regards and love when you commune with him in prayer. I'll do the same, but I think he'll be listening to you first and foremost. You were his only love, his first love, his true love. I wish I could come to St Louis to be at this event but I will be thinking of you tomorrow morning...

Derrick family,
I am so blessed to have had Marco in my life during my childhood years! He was a wonderful role model and caring man. I will always remember getting to mow the lawn and hitting some golf balls with Marco.
I thank you for taking my mother(LeAnn) and myself in as family. I cherish the Sunday afternoon's we had hanging out at your house and thank the Derrick Family (Alison especially) for enriching my life with the love of classical music.

Although we were in the same business, I never thought of Marco as a competitor, but as a friend. He was always willing to share his knowledge or loan us ingredients when we were in a pinch. Dear Mary and Ray-- I don't know if you remember me, but I remember Marco almost as a brother. I was learning the soap products business, and for some reason, Marco decided to became my mentor. I've never forgotten him, including the golf lessons that came along with him. In my religion, we have a wonderful word that described Marco : a MENSCH.
