Marcos H. Lesa, a man known for his generous heart, loving embrace, and infectious humor, passed away peacefully on September 30, 2024, at the age of 85. Born on September 4, 1939, Marcos lived a full life marked by laughter, kindness, and an unwavering dedication to his family.
Survived by his wife of 64 years, Lupe Lesa; children, Elizabeth Palacios, Cynthia Lesa, Deborah (Andy Sr.) Lopez, and Patricia (Matt) Hudson; grandchildren, Joey, Jesse, Benjamin, Paul, Serena, Janel, Valerie, Andy Jr., Melanie, Torrance, Payton, and Logan; sisters, Lola Moreno, and Gloria Lesa. Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends also survive.
Preceded in death by his parents, Francisco (Martina) Lesa Sr.; brothers, Sal Lesa, and Francisco Lesa Jr.; brothers in law, Daniel Moreno and Herbie Loveday.
A true family man, Marcos was an adored patriarch who cherished every moment with his grandchildren. He will be fondly remembered for the twinkle in his eye as he shared stories of his adventures, and the quiet afternoons spent teaching the younger generations the patience and joy of fishing, a pastime he loved dearly.
Marcos's love for life was paralleled only by his love for sweets, a little secret that he carried with a playful smile. His ability to sneak an extra cookie or a piece of chocolate was a source of gentle amusement for all who knew him, and it was this light-heartedness that made every gathering brighter.
His presence was a gift to all who had the pleasure of knowing him, and his absence will be deeply felt. Marcos's legacy of generosity, love, and laughter will continue to resonate through the lives he touched. As we say goodbye to this remarkable man, we celebrate the joy he brought into the world and the countless memories that will keep his spirit alive in our hearts.
Funeral service for Marcos will be held at Farkas Funeral Home, 3201 W. Jefferson St. Joliet, IL 60431 on Thursday, October 3, 2024, at 12:00 pm. Visitation will be held from 11:00 am until time of service. As it was Marcos's wishes request cremation rites will be accorded following services.
