Marcus (Mark) Wayne Jarvis, 85, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 17, 2025 at his residence.
He was born in Lacoochee (Pasco County), Florida and has resided in Jacksonville for most of his life. He graduated from Andrew Jackson High School in 1957 and began his electrical career. Mark served in the U.S. Army and was a Veteran of foreign wars. He was a member of IBEW # 177 and received his master electrician license. He worked with White Electric Construction Company, Miller Electric Company, Paxon Electric Company and Son Electric Company. In earlier years, Mark enjoyed playing basketball and baseball. Mark was an avid golfer and enjoyed fishing. In later years he enjoyed watching football and traveling.
Preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Mary Crawford Jarvis, his parents: Herbert Williams Jarvis and Mary Katherine "Kate" Rogers Jarvis, his sister, Mary Poindexter and brother-in-law, Mark Tomlinson. Surviving family include his daughter & son-in-law, Paige & Brent Hyskell; 4 grandchildren: Hunter Pruitt (Hannah), Corey Hyskell, Brianna Hyskell and Katie Stukes; 4 great grandchildren: Holton, Henleigh, Kyleigh and Kennedi; 1 sister: Julia Tomlinson and several nieces and nephews.
Celebration of life service will be held at 3:00 PM on Friday, January 24, 2025 at Peeples Funeral Home, 14165 N. Main Street with Pastor James A. Hull, officiating.
His family will greet friends from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the funeral Home.
Burial with Military Honors will be held at 9:00 AM on Monday, January 27, 2025 at Jacksonville National Cemetery.
