Marcus D. Phelps, 60, of Covington passed away unexpectedly but peacefully in his sleep on Oct. 15, 2025. He was born on January 22, 1965, in Danville, IL to Marcus (Hannie) Phelps and Barbara (Shoemaker) Phelps.
Marc had a passion for racing and spent his younger adult life racing motorcycles and as a street stock driver at the local dirt tracks. Later in life he enjoyed fishing and boating throughout several states.
He married Leanna (Keeling) on June 3, 1995 and built a life with her and the ones he loved. He was committed to providing for his family and was employed at Flex-N-Gate Corp. for over 30 years, rarely missing a day of work.
He leaves behind too soon: his wife Leanna, son Garrett (Eve) Phelps, grandson Art, step-son Dylan Hughes, brother Tony, his mother, Barbara Phelps, and mother-in-law Beverly J. Keeling.
He will forever be missed and remembered by those that knew him.
Private family services pending for a later date provided by Dickerson Funeral Home.
