Chris Alan Cox, 63, of Veedersburg, Indiana died peacefully in his sleep on Sunday, October 12th.
Chris was born in 1962 to Bill Cox Sr. and Nina (Schultz) Cox. He attended Fountain Central High school until he enlisted in theU.S. Navy in 1980, where he served 4 years before he joined the Indiana Army National Guard. He retired from the military with 20 years of loyal service.
Chris married the love of his life, Sherry (McMahan) Cox on August 16th, 1986. They had their only child, a daughter, Lacey (Cox) Beck in July of 1990.
Chris worked at Master Guard in Veedersburg for 20 years before eventually retiring from Pace Dairy in Crawfordsville. He was a very talented woodworker. He also enjoyed panning for gold. His best times were spent with his two grandsons. Chris had a fierce love for his family and his country.
His wife, Sherry, survives. He also leaves behind his daughter, Lacey (Andy) Beck, and two grandsons, Oliver and Holden Beck. A sister, Darlene (Greg) Ellery, and a brother, Gary (Susie) Cox, also survive.
Chris is preceded in death by his father, Bill Cox Sr., mother, Nina (Schultz) Cox, and brothers, Billy Cox Jr, and David Cox.
Services for Chris will be held at the Hillsboro Church of the Nazarene on Saturday, October 25th. Visitation will take place at 11 CST / 12 EST with a service following at 12 CST / 1 EST.
Chris will receive full military honors.
