Marcus Wood

Benson, NC: Mr. Marcus Coolidge Wood, age 90, died Saturday, November 8, 2014, at Emerald Health & Rehabilitation Center in Lillington.  Funeral services will be 11:00AM Tuesday, November 11, 2014, at Holly Grove Advent Christian Church.  Officiating will be Revs. Michael Bassett and Calvin Leavitt.  Burial will follow in Roselawn Cemetery.       Mr. Wood was born October 17, 1924 in Johnston County to the late Isaac Franklin and Martha Jane Raynor Wood.  He was also preceded in death by his wife, Hilda Gray Hobson Wood; a grandson, Scottie Medlin; sisters, Lillie Barefoot, Celesta Beasley, & Gladys Kinsey; and brothers, Colonel Wood, Milburn Wood, Warren Wood, I. F. Wood, and John Wesley Wood.  Mr. Wood was a farmer and a member of Holly Grove Advent Christian Church.      Surviving are daughters, Frankie Barefoot, Connie Hall and husband, Don, and Patti Holland and husband, B. W., all of Benson; 4 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.       Family will receive friends at Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Benson from 6:00PM to 8:00PM Monday, November 10, 2014, and other times at the home of Frankie Barefoot, 1590 NC Hwy 27 West, Benson, NC.
