Margareta "Marga" Orth Elisabeth Burrell, 89, of Easley, beloved wife of the late CW4 Frank Carlton Burrell, (Ret), passed away on Thursday, January 8, 2026. Born in Mannheim, Germany, she was a daughter of the late Ludwig Orth and the late Emma Hakenjos Orth.
Marga and Frank were married for 55 beautiful years until his passing in 2012. She found immense joy in spending quality time with her husband, whether it was partaking in friendly Wii bowling matches, riding bicycles alongside one another, or engaging in spirited games of Phase 10. These moments of shared laughter and camaraderie painted the backdrop of a life filled with love and adventure. Her passion for travel led her to sunny beaches and exciting boating trips, each experience adding depth to her rich tapestry of memories.
Marga was known for her warm heart, unwavering support, and her remarkable ability to bring people together through her culinary talents. Her delicious cakes and her homemade German potato salad were always crowd favorites.
Marga's spirit shone brightly in her dedication to serving others. For 40 years, she volunteered at Easley Baptist Hospital, sharing her compassion and kindness with patients and families alike. It was a role she cherished, reflecting her loving and selfless nature. Beyond her volunteer work, she was a proud military wife, exhibiting strength and resilience, always standing by her loved ones through good and bad times. She was known not only for her strict nature but also for her infinite love with a combination that cultivated a nurturing home where friends and family always felt welcome and supported.
As a member of the Powdersville First Baptist Church, Marga's faith guided her, and her community was fortified by her presence. Marga’s legacy resonates in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her.
She is survived by daughter, Tina Quinn (Tommy), niece, Laura McGinnis (Michael) and nephews, Erik Kohl (Sylvie) and Frank Kohl (Heike).
In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by her sister, Susi Kohl.
The family would like to express their appreciation to her caregivers Brenda, Angela, Claudia, Lenora, Laurie Ann, Kathy and Pat for their unwavering love and care of Marga.
The family will receive friends from 2:30 PM until 3:15 PM on Sunday, January 11, 2026 at Robinson Funeral Home - Powdersville Road with her memorial service to follow at 3:30 PM in the chapel.
Marga Orth Burrell leaves behind an indelible mark, a testament to a life lived with purpose and a heart forever open to others. She will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of sharing in her life.
