Margaret Brantley Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Cremation Society of New Jersey on Dec. 5, 2025.

Margaret Hutcheson Brantley, age 81, passed away peacefully in her sleep on December 3, 2025 at Landon Ridge Assisted Living in San Antonio, Texas.

Born August 23, 1944 in Johnson County, Georgia, she was the daughter of Brooks and Laura Youngblood Hutcheson.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her brother Joel Hutcheson, and her beloved son, Richard Riley Brantley.

Margaret touched many lives during her 32 years as an educator. She retired in 2002 so she could devote her time to her first grandson, Anthony. She later worked part-time with Heart of Georgia Technical College doing GED testing.

Margaret had many roles during her life, but her favorite was being Gammie to Anthony and Daniel. She was so proud of her grandsons and always encouraged them to do their best and be good people. She loved telling them stories of her childhood and growing up in Meeks, Georgia. She always had them in the kitchen with her and never minded the mess that came along with it.

Margaret is survived by her daughter Allison and her husband Edward, her grandsons Anthony and Daniel Martino, her brother and sister-in-love Charles and June Hutcheson, and her sister Jean O’Mea, along with her treasured nieces and nephews and friends.

A celebration of life will be held at later date.

Memorial contributions may be made to Corinth Memorial Cemetery Fund c/o Dale Webb 1505 Corinth Church Road, Kite, Georgia 31049.

Stanley Funeral Home and Crematory/Wrightsville Chapel has charge of arrangements.
