Margaret Caldwell Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Minor-Morris Funeral Home, Ltd. on Mar. 11, 2024.
Ms. Margaret "Cupcake" Elizabeth Caldwell, daughter of Loretta Caldwell and the late Robert Beeks was born January 29, 1963 in Chicago, IL. She was the 5th of 6 children born to Ms. Loretta Caldwell.
She attended Charles Koziminsky Community Academy and Kenwood Academy High School in Hyde Park. At an early age she professed her faith in Jesus Christ and joined Kenwood United Church of Christ under the leadership of Rev. Dr. Leroy Sanders, where she was a dedicated member. At Kenwood UCC, she served faithfully in the kitchen on Sundays after church, helping to prepare meals for the homeless and church members.
"Cupcake" was very good with her hands. There wasn't anything that she couldn't fix. Whether it was painting, electrical, drywall, there was nothing she couldn't do! Cupcake was always the life of the party! Her legendary stepping skills were taught to many and loved by all. Everyone loved to watch her dance! She would report to the dancefloor immediately when "The Wobble" came across the speakers. Cupcake had a heart of gold! Everyone that met and came in contact with her loved her dearly! She was a surrogate mother, auntie and cousin to so many. Cupcake always said that her greatest accomplishment in her life were her children. She always made sure each of her children knew they were loved and that she was extremely proud of them.
Her beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of her children: Patricia A. Caldwell; Jasmine N. Caldwell; Ashley A. Caldwell and Ivory I. Caldwell. Her Loving mother, Loretta Caldwell. Two handsome grandsons, Jalen I. Henley and Jayden M. Turner. Two "grand puppies" Bella & Sincere Willis. Three brothers, Anthony Caldwell of Chicago, IL; David (Valerie) Caldwell of Loganville, GA; Donald L. Caldwell of Chicago, IL. Two Sisters, Theresa A. Caldwell of Chicago, IL; Patricia L. Thomas of Hazel Crest, IL. Aunts and Uncles: Rev. Patricia Sanford of Chicago, IL, Robert Walton and Cathy (Sydney) Walton-Smith of South Holland, IL. One Niece, Angela (Lorenzo) Hall of Loganville, GA; One nephew, Myles Caldwell of Miami, Florida and a host of devoted great nieces, great nephews, cousins and friends.
