Margaret was born on Wednesday, February 15, 1933, in Maude, OK, to Walter Harvey and Mildred Margaret (Cooper) Wallace. Margaret had four brothers and five sisters. She attended schools in Durant, OK, Orange, TX, and Tonkawa. She graduated from Tonkawa High School, and took some classes at NOC. She married Jimmie Cathey on October 7, 1950, and from this unions, four children were born; Nancy Jane, Danny Lewis, Cheryl Ann, and Beverly Jo.
Margaret was a homemaker with her family being first. She was also a baker, quilter, a very experienced seamstress, and upholster; making high end draperies. She enjoyed decorating, painting with oil and water colors, she loved to draw with pen and ink. She took classes in woodworking, making a table and many picture frames. Her home was always open to family and friends, and her refrigerator was full and she was ready to feed them as well. Her home was always a welcoming place to stay.
Margaret was an amazing singer, and in her 80's, she taught herself to play the piano. She loved to play card games and entertain. She did not tolerate cheating but win or lose, was a very competitive person. She also loved to macramé, paint ceramics and taught her grandchildren to cook and bake pies. She gave her life to the Lord as a young girl. Her relationship with God got her through many real struggles in her life, and God received all of the glory. She did everything in her power to lead her loved ones to Jesus. Credit was given to the Lord, always, and she enjoyed sharing his word and wanted her family to know His love.
