Margaret Coffman, 81, of Hopper, AR. passed away December 1, 2025, at the Montgomery County Nursing Home with family by her side. Margaret was born March 20, 1944, in Pine Bluff, AR to Leslie and Mildred (Story) Jackson. Margaret is preceded in death by both parents, husband of 59 years Wendell Coffman, brother Lemoin Jackson, daughter in law Sheri Coffman.
She was a devoted homemaker who took great pride in her family. With a true green thumb and a soft spot for her chickens, she made every place feel warm and alive. Above all, she was the best Nana anyone could ever ask for.
Margaret is survived by sons Travis Coffman and Monty Coffman and wife Julieanna, daughters Sheila Walker, Charissa Avila all of Hopper, AR. grandchildren Coleby Walker, Zachary Walker, Roan Coffman and wife Taylor, Gus Coffman, Emily McCaghren, Allie Avila, Nick Avila and wife Baylie, Yancey Coffman, Kennedy Avila, and Nina-Rhea Coffman, great grandchildren Annalise Avila and J.C. Avila, sisters Jeanne Smith, and Sue Smith. A gaggle of nieces, nephews’ other family and friends.
Visitation will be Wednesday, December 3, 2025, at Thornton Funeral Home from 5 to 7pm. Graveside service Thursday, December 4, 2025, at 10am at Hopper Cemetery. Bro. Brian Holder will officiate the service. Pallbearers Travis Coffman, Monty Coffman, Coleby Walker, Zachary Walker, Roan Coffman, Gus Coffman, Yancey Coffman. Honorary pallbearers Nick Avila, Joe Tolleson, and Montgomery County Nursing Home and staff for the last couple of years of care they have given Margaret.
