Margaret Colantuno Obituary

Margaret "Peggy" Colantuno, 76
1948 - 2024
Marblehead - Margaret "Peggy" (Stewart) Colantuno, 76 of Marblehead formerly of Salem passed away peacefully on Thursday August 15th surrounded by her loving family after a long battle with a rare lung disease. She is predeceased by her high school sweetheart and husband of 48 years Robert Colantuno.
Peggy was born on February 25, 1948 in Salem MA and raised in Swampscott. She graduated high school from Ste Chretienne Academy in Salem and went on to work in Boston for 7 years where she met her first "chosen sister", Sheila Konopka. After her time in Boston, she went on to be a Program Manager at Advanced Automation for 31 years. She loved working "with the girls". She met her second "chosen sister", Diane Goodwin in 1979. Her "chosen sisters" were by her side until the end.
Peggy is described by so many as the nicest and kindest person. She had an amazing heart and loved helping people out. She also loved and spoiled her many dogs including Sherlock & Amber.
Peggy loved her family. That is what made her happiest. She was always there to support them, through life's ups and downs. She loved spending time with her family, particularly her 3 grandchildren. She enjoyed many vacations together, including a special trip to Disney in 2021. She loved living with them for the past 4 years and doing the simple things like being a spectator at their sporting events, watching Survivor together or just spoiling them with her "extra" treats she kept in her room.
She is survived by her son Brian Colantuno & fiancé, Shannon of Salem. Her daughter Kerri Harwood and husband Justin of Marblehead and her three beloved grandchildren Ethan, Claire and Adam.
She also leaves behind her brother James Stewart of Florida & his family and her brother & sister in law, Anita & Roy Merenda of Wakefield NH, many nieces and nephews and so many friends who loved and adored her.
She was truly the kindest most caring person and will be greatly missed by all.
