NORTH ATTLEBORO – Margaret Ann "Peggy" Conrad-Pope, 75, a resident of North Attleboro since 1975, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 31, 2025, at the HopeHealth Hulitar Hospice Center in Providence, RI.
Born on January 29, 1950 in Boston, she was the loving daughter of the late Merritt and Virginia (Wolboldt) Handy. Peggy was a 1968 graduate of Marian High School in Framingham and a 1971 graduate of the Catherine Labouré School of Nursing.
A devoted registered nurse, Peggy began her career in 1974 and served at both Hasbro Children's Hospital and Rhode Island Hospital in Providence for more than forty years. She proudly wrote up the very first patient ever admitted to the Hasbro ER upon its opening.
Peggy loved music, and as an accomplished singer was a member of the Rhode Island Touring Ensemble. A woman of deep Catholic faith, she was actively involved in parish life and music ministry for many years. She sang in the choir and served as a cantor at Sacred Heart Church and Transfiguration of the Lord Parish in North Attleboro, and was previously involved at the former Saint Maria Goretti Church in Pawtucket. She was a longtime communicant of Sacred Heart and volunteered regularly at the local food pantry and soup kitchen.
She is survived by her sons, Christopher Conrad of North Attleboro and Timothy Conrad of Burlington, MA, as well as her grandchildren, extended family, and many dear friends.
Her funeral, to which relatives and friends are kindly invited, will be held on Wednesday, November 5, 2025. Visitation will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 AM at the SPERRY-MCHOUL-PICHI FUNERAL HOME, 15 Grove Street, North Attleboro, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 11:00 AM by the Reverend David A. Costa at Sacred Heart Church (Transfiguration of the Lord Parish), 58 Church Street, North Attleboro. Private interment will take place in Saint Mary's Cemetery, Franklin, at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in Peggy's name to Transfiguration of the Lord Parish, 14 Park Street, North Attleboro, MA 02760.
