Margaret Cotter Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by O'Connell Funeral Home - Little Chute on Sep. 16, 2023.
Margaret M. Cotter, age 76, passed away peacefully, with her husband at her side, on Sunday, September 10, 2023. She was born in Little Chute to the late Henry and Rose (Vander Wyst) Kuhn on October 15, 1946. Marge married the love of her life, James Cotter, on August 12, 1967. Together, they raised their two sons, Lawrence and Michael.
Marge enjoyed crafting, especially her bunny Easter baskets and other holiday décor. While she only had two sons, she took care of many children through the years, sometimes even more than one generation in each family. It was her life's joy to care for them and to make sure they safely got to Lincoln Elementary School each day. Marge also loved sports, especially the Packers and it wasn't uncommon to hear her swear at the TV during games.
Marge is survived by her husband of 56 years, James; her two sons: Larry (Lori) Cotter, of Kaukauna, and Michael Cotter of Appleton; and her grandchildren: Benson and Briella Cotter. Margaret is further survived by her siblings: Marilyn Kuhtz, Debra Kiesow, Kathy Janssen, Doris Kuhn, and Steven Kuhn; as well as many nieces, nephews, special friends, neighbors, and the many children she babysat over the years.
In addition to her parents, Margaret was preceded in death by her siblings: Patti Sonkowsky and Mary Kohl; and brothers-in-law: Roy Kuhtz and Jack Janssen.
A Celebration of Life for Margaret will take place Monday, October 23, 2023, at The 10th Frame (618 W. Wisconsin Ave, Appleton) from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
Thank you to the doctors and nurses at ThedaCare Regional Medical Center in Appleton for the exceptional care she received.
