Margaret Danko Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Timothy E. Ryan Home for Funerals - Lavallette on Jan. 27, 2026.
Margaret Danko (Servedio) passed away peacefully at home with her family on January 26, 2026. Born and raised in Rahway, Margaret (Marge) spent many happy years there with her husband Emil and son Michael. In 1983 she moved to Monterey Beach where she enjoyed swimming in the bay for hours. Marge worked as an Administrative Assistant at Purolator Inc. in Rahway and later at the Rahway Board of Education, serving as Administrative Assistant to the Board Secretary. She was a proud graduate of Rahway High School and the Washington School for Secretaries.

She was an active and devoted member of the Deborah Foundation Seaside Chapter, the Rosary Society, and the Catholic Daughters at St. Pio of Pietrelcina Church. Marge was predeceased by her beloved husband Emil Danko, with whom she shared over 40 years of marriage; her parents, Joseph and Carrie Servedio; and her brothers, Angelo, Vito, and Dan Servedio.

She will be lovingly missed by her son, Michael Danko; daughter-in-law, Melissa; cherished grandchildren, Sarina Anna and Cole Michael; many nieces, nephews, and godchildren; her guardian angel, Pat Donovan; along with many loving and caring family members, friends and neighbors.

Marge will be remembered for her graciousness, kindness, and warm hospitality-she always enjoyed having company and made sure everyone had something delicious to eat. She loved sending greeting cards to family, godchildren, and friends; cooking and baking; tending to her home; and watching lots of sports on television, especially basketball. She never missed an episode of Jeopardy. Above all, she was deeply devoted to St. Anthony, often saying he was always there for her, and she remained a faithful attendee of church throughout her life.

The family will receive relatives and friends on Friday, January 30, 2026 3:00pm – 6:00pm at the Timothy E. Ryan Home for Funerals, 706 Grand Central Ave., Lavallette, NJ. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered Saturday, January 31, 2026 10:00am at St. Pio of Pietrelcina Church, Lavallette, NJ. Entombment to follow at Ocean County Memorial Park, Toms River.
