Margaret DelGavio Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Evans Funeral Chapel & Cremation Services - Parkville on Jan. 27, 2026.
Margaret A. DelGavio, age 86, of Parkville, Maryland, passed away peacefully on January 21, 2026. She was born on March 14, 1939, in Baltimore, Maryland, to the late Charles H. Birely and Margaret Carr. She was the beloved wife of the late Vincent J. DelGavio.
Margaret found great joy in spending time outdoors, especially camping-whether in a tent, pop-up, or RV-throughout Maryland and the surrounding states. She was an avid bowler who particularly loved duckpin bowling. A devoted member of the Parkville Senior Center, Margaret formed many lasting friendships and remained active in the community she loved.
Known for her big heart, Margaret had a deep love for animals and lovingly cared for numerous rescue dogs over the years. In her quieter moments, she enjoyed doing word searches and dreaming about her perfect car: a 1964 red convertible Mustang. One of her greatest joys was watching her grandchildren play baseball, moments she cherished dearly.
Margaret was the loving mother of Vincent C. DelGavio and his wife Jane, Dominic J. DelGavio and his wife Belinda, and Richard A. DelGavio and his wife Stacy. She was a devoted Mommom to Nick, David, Sara, Joe, Jennifer, Daniel, and Will, and a cherished great-grandmother to Victor, Vincent, Theodore, Vincenzo, Gracie, Cecilia, Olivia, and Jackson. She is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Family and friends are invited to honor and celebrate Margaret's life at the family-owned Evans Life Celebration Home, 8800 Harford Road, Parkville, Maryland. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, from 2:00–4:00 p.m. and 6:00–8:00 p.m. A funeral service will take place on Thursday, January 29, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at the Evans Funeral Chapel.
