Margaret JoAnn Ditty, a native of Windsor Heights, WV, and more recent resident of
Plain City, OH, passed away June 7, 2025. She was born on September 28, 1946, in Wheeling, WV to the late Joseph and Margaret Barki. She was a graduate of Wellsburg High School in West Virginia, where she met her late husband, Jack.
JoAnn was proud of her Hungarian heritage and West Virginia roots. Her fondness for her home state of West Virginia grew after her husband attended West Virginia University. Go Mountaineers! JoAnn was a woman of faith, who talked the talk, and walked the walk. She was a member of East Richland Friends Church in St. Clairsville, OH, where she and Jack were leaders in Marriage Encounter seminars, Bible studies, evangelism, and many ice cream socials. She worked many years as an elementary school cafeteria cook in Martin's Ferry, OH and was a fantastic homemaker.
JoAnn loved big and loved well. She cherished time spent with family and took special interest in each of her children, grandchildren, and her new great-grandson.
She endured many hardships in her lifetime but was an exemplary model of courage, resilience, bravery, patience, endurance, kindness, and faith.
Besides her parents, JoAnn is preceded in death by her husband, Jack Ditty, and brother, Joseph Barki.
JoAnn is survived by her children: Meg (Craig) Wulfeck, Bob (Venessa) Ditty and Erica (Duane) Gingerich, grandchildren: Emma, Brett, Molly, Cana (Wyatt), Luke, Jonah, Gennesa, Milly, Elijah, Zeke, Isaiah. JoAnn is also survived by one great-grandson Judah.
A graveside service will take place on Thursday June 12th, 2025 at 11 AM at Forest Grove Cemetery 8270 Cemetery Pike,
Plain City, Ohio 43064. Memorial contributions can be made in JoAnn's memory to a faith based
