Margaret M. Dougherty, age 97, of Havertown, PA, passed away on October 27, 2024. Born in Philadelphia, PA, she was the daughter of the late Jacob and Kathryn Davis (nee Dowd).
Peg was a proud 1945 West Catholic High School graduate. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She could recite birthdays and anniversary dates for all 119 members of her immediate family with ease. After raising her family, Peg was an active member of the Annunciation Social Club. She enjoyed travel, bus trips to Atlantic City, and playing bridge with her friends.
Margaret was the beloved wife of Thomas J. Dougherty for 74 years; loving mother of James Dougherty (Marguerite), Thomas Dougherty (Brenda), Msgr. Paul V. Dougherty, Rosemary Conway (John), Stephen Dougherty (Beatrice), Philip Dougherty (Celine), Margaret Malandra (Samuel), Kathryn Griendling (Thomas), Joseph Dougherty (Joan), Elizabeth Radek (Daniel), and Matthew Dougherty; caring sister of Sr. Rosemary Davis, I.H.M. Predeceased by her siblings, Rita Shirley, Eugene Davis, Joseph Davis, Vincent Davis, Samuel Davis, and Francis Davis, and her daughter-in-law, Patricia Dougherty. Margaret is also survived by 29 grandchildren and 51 great-grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited to Margaret’s Viewing 5:00-8:00 PM on Friday, November 1, 2024 at The Donohue Funeral Home, 8401 West Chester Pike, Upper Darby, PA 19082, and to her Funeral Mass 10:30 AM on Saturday, November 2, 2024 at Annunciation BVM Church, 401 Brookline Blvd., Havertown, PA 19083. Interment SS Peter & Paul Cemetery.
