Margaret Gavin Obituary

Margaret M. "Peggy" Gavin, 65, of Framingham, MA, passed away peacefully on September 13, 2025 at Casa de Ramana Rehabilitation Center, Framingham, due to complications of Diabetes. Peggy was born on May 27, 1960, in Framingham to the late David W. and Rosemary A. (Sullivan) Gavin, Jr.

She is survived by her siblings, Francis M. Gavin (Diane) of Milford, David J. Gavin (Kathie) of Framingham, Paul L. Gavin (Carla) of Ashland, Catherine Richardson of Kissimmee, FL, and Mary Anne McAlister (Michael) of Bellingham, along with her nieces and nephews, Christine, Jennifer, Casey, Sara, Cathleen, David, Michael, Amy, Michael "Mikey", Marisa and Laurie, each of whom she considered to be her "favorite". Among her many colorful tattoos, she proudly displayed a bouquet of flowers on her leg with their names on the stems. She is also survived by 15 great nieces and nephews and one great, great nephew, many relatives, as well as her former husband, Wako Johnson, and her beloved dog, Grizzly. In addition to her parents, she was also predeceased by her brother-in-law, Thomas J. Richardson.

Peggy graduated from Framingham South High, class of 1978. She remained close with many of her classmates and "Musterfield" neighborhood friends. As she continued making new friends throughout the years she made them feel loved and valued also.

Peggy was a dedicated friend of Bill W. for 36 years. She not only was helped by the support she received from the program, but she also helped many people through their journey to Recovery. She would always recommend "One Day at a Time" to those who were struggling.

Peggy enjoyed art. She loved to draw and paint, go to flea markets and craft fairs, appreciated the arts and crafts of others, and purchased meaningful gifts for her family and friends.

Peggy loved music, especially 70s and early 80s rock (she was very sad when Ozzy passed away this year). Some of her favorite artists were Arlo Guthrie, Neil Young, Simon & Garfunkel, Peter, Paul and Mary, and Procol Harum, along with so many others. She also enjoyed her travels to Ireland, Scotland, parts of Canada, Maine, and many day trips throughout New England.

Peggy, her kindness, and her laughter will be missed by the many hearts she touched and those who loved her.

Our family would like to thank Summit Elder Care of Webster, The Residence at Whitcomb House of Milford, Casa de Ramana, and Harborside Hospice Care, for all the care they gave to Peggy over the last few years.
