Margaret Johnson Gregory, 84, of Eastover, passed away at her home surrounded by family on January 8th, 2026.

Margaret was born on May 8th, 1941, in Erwin, North Carolina. She was the daughter of Willie and Lorena Johnson. She graduated from Central High School in 1959. On October 20th, 1959, she married her true love, Willie "Billy" Gregory.

In her younger years Margaret loved playing softball. She was known as Cookie to many. Margaret was a natural caretaker. Throughout the years she cared for many friends, children, and neighbors. She was a fabulous cook and loved preparing meals for her family. She was an active member at Lebanon Baptist Church. She was a faithful servant of the Lord and was always willing to lend a helping hand. Her sons were her pride and joy. She was a wonderful Granny to her grandchildren. Lindsay Wellons and Michael Black, who knew her as nanny, held a special place in her heart.

Margaret was preceded in death by her husband Willie Gregory; her parents Willie and Lorena Johnson; her brother Willie Johnson; and her grandson Dane Everhart.

She is survived by her sons Barry (Dee) Gregory of Fayetteville, Scott (Leigh) Gregory of Eastover, and Sean (Kelly) Gregory of Hubert; her grandchildren Brett (Stephanie) Gregory, Samantha (Christopher) Zinicola, Amy (Kiyonte) Fennell, Grace Gregory, Ashleigh Gregory, Johnathan Gregory, Geran Everhart, Bella Palmer, and Gabby Palmer; and her Great Grandchildren Greyson, Lachlan, Elijah, Kamiya, Ella, Kj, and Carson.

"Honor her for all that her hands have done, and let her works bring her praise at the city gate."

Margaret arranged many high school class reunions for our class of 1959. I cannot imagine how many hours of hard work went into those plus the time and effort that went into learning who was deceased. Our class is indebted to this wonderful lady.
