Margaret Lanell Hatcher of Cottondale, FL passed away peacefully with family and friends at her bedside Tuesday morning, April 25, 2023.
Born on March 5, 1951, in Graceville, FL, Margaret was a strong woman of faith who believed in the power of prayer. She loved her family and friends very much. Margaret loved gardening, especially her roses, watching westerns and the Hallmark Channel every afternoon. She also loved her classmates and enjoyed her lunches and fellowship with them anytime they were able to get together. She was a member of First Assembly of God Church in Marianna, FL. Anytime Margaret wasn't able to go to church, you could find her watching Jimmy Swaggart.
Margaret retired from Marianna Walmart after 20 years of service as a cashier. She was a passionate shopper and was quick to snatch up the newest styles in clothing as well as Vera Bradley purses.
She was predeceased by her husband, Raymond Hatcher; and her parents, Arvin and Nell Scurlock of Cottondale.
She is survived by two sons, Jason (Dawn) Hatcher of Cottondale and Brad (Jessica) Hatcher of Malone, FL; brothers, Don (Veleta) Scurlock, Mike (Marcella) Scurlock and Eddie (Iris) Scurlock; four grandchildren, Breanna Hatcher, Brock Hatcher, Tyler Hatcher and Taylor Hatcher; multiple cousins, nieces and nephews and special friends, Linda McCain and Dianne Lairmore.
