Margaret A. “Peggy” Himmelberger, 73, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, at Reading Hospital.

Born in Ephrata, Peggy was the daughter of the late Robert and Dorothy (Grube) Himmelberger. A 1969 graduate of Warwick High School, she went on to earn her nursing degree from the Reading Hospital School of Nursing. Peggy dedicated her entire professional life to the care of others, serving for decades in the Obstetrics Department at Reading Hospital — a place where she helped welcome countless new lives into the world and supported families through some of their most meaningful moments.

Peggy will be remembered for her quiet strength, compassionate spirit, and unwavering commitment to her patients and loved ones. She was a devoted sister and a cherished aunt, survived by her brothers, Robert Himmelberger (Karen) of Lititz and Leon Himmelberger (Beverly) of Leola, as well as many beloved nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews.

In keeping with her wishes, services will be held privately.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Animal Rescue League of Berks County, reflecting Peggy’s lifelong love of animals and gentle nature.

Arrangements are entrusted to Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., 739 Penn Avenue, West Reading, PA 19611. Condolences may be shared at kuhnfuneralhomes.com
