Margaret Stone Hobbs, age 97, of Reidsville, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on November 6, 2025, at Reidsville Brookdale Assisted Living, with her daughter and son-in-law by her side. She was born on February 22, 1928, to her late parents, Numa M. Stone and Lucy Strader Stone. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, November 10, 2025, at the Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Heath Lloyd officiating. Burial will follow at Reidlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday, November 9, 2025, between 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Wilkerson. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Hugh Hunter Hobbs of 61 years and sisters Louise Hobbs and Frances Daniel.Margaret retired from American Tobacco Company in 1984 after working for 38 years. She was a member of Baptist Temple Church and in the early years Eastside Baptist Church. She taught Sunday School, lead Girls in Action (GA’s) and sang in the choir for many years. She is survived by her daughter, Donna Setliff and husband Tim. Her granddaughters, Michelle Wilson and husband Mark; Leslie Russell and husband Bryan. Her great-grandchildren USCG Petty Officer Second Class Jordan Wilson and wife USCG Petty Officer Second Class Sophia Wilson; US Army Second Lieutenant Carter Wilson; Paisley, Pierce and Bella Blue Russell; her great-great-grandson Finn Wilson and special niece Carolyn Pillar. Margaret was known for her love of cooking and her pleasant disposition. She loved to travel and shop with her special lady friends. On her many trips she collected dolls from all 50 states and other countries. The family would like to extend their deepest appreciation to the Reidsville Brookdale Assisted Living staff for the many years of care given to her. Brookdale staff and residents became her extended family. In lieu of flowers, memorials maybe made to Fairview Baptist Church Building Fund, 2531 Flat Rock Road, Reidsville, NC 27320 or the charity of your choice.
