Margaret was born on July 20, 1957, in Benton Harbor. She lived a life defined by devotion, strength and a deep commitment to her family. She was the heartbeat of her home, steady in hard seasons, generous in joyful ones, and unwavering in the way she showed up for the people she loved.
A creative person to her core, Margaret loved turning simple fabric into items both beautiful and practical. With a needle and thread, she created more than quilts and clothing; she created comfort, confidence and keepsakes that her family will treasure for years to come.
Margaret is survived by her children: Jesse Sanders, Kala Sanders (Sylvia), Cecil Benson (Nell), Marquitta Newett and Lydia Rosses (Lennard); 14 grandchildren: Felicia, Khahari, Kala, Teaira, Corey, Kaitlyn, Adonis, Lemaria, Kennedy, Caleb, Cecil, Vanessa, Madison, Keagan, Lidiya, Kaleigh and Justin; 12 great-grandchildren; her mother, Emma Jo Hill; 12 siblings: Lavanna Bennet, Linda Hill, Lewis Hill, Michael Hill, Shelia Noble, Joseph Hill, Anthony Hill, Stephanie Byrd, James Bryd, Arnold Bryd, Teran Byrd and Sandra Clay; a wide circle of friends and loved ones.
