Margaret Kaltmayer Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Sunset Hill Funeral Home and Memorial Estates on Nov. 3, 2025.
Margaret Helen Kaltmayer, 84, of Granite City, passed away peacefully under hospice care at Liberty Village in Maryville, Illinois, surrounded by her loving family, on October 31, 2025.
Margaret was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Donald H. Kaltmayer; her parents, Howard and Helen Bischoff; her son-in-law, Daniel Boyd; and her granddaughter, Sara Emily Kaltmayer. She will be remembered for her generous heart, her quick wit, and the joy she brought to everyone around her.
She is survived by her loving children: Donald Kaltmayer and Brenda Millikin of Granite City, Diane Boyd and the late Daniel Boyd of Granite City, David and Pam Kaltmayer of Edwardsville, and Daniel and Laura Kaltmayer of Edwardsville.
A devoted grandmother and great-grandmother, Margaret cherished every moment spent with her family. Her grandchildren - Danielle, Kayla, Kaytlin, Ashley, Nicholas, Sara, Andrew, Logan, and Kyleigh - along with her fifteen great-grandchildren, were her pride and joy. She never missed a chance to share stories, laughter, and love with them.
Margaret also had a well-known passion for QVC shopping, especially for kitchen gadgets. She delighted in showing off her latest finds, often giving family and friends her own "infomercial" demonstrations. She was, without a doubt, QVC's best unofficial salesperson.
In her quiet moments, Margaret enjoyed using her iPad to listen to her favorite music - Liberace, the Glenn Miller Band, and other classic performers who brought her great joy.
Her family and friends will forever remember her warmth, humor, and the light she brought into their lives.
Visitation will be held on Monday, November 10, 2025, from 4:00pm to 8:00pm at Sunset Hill Funeral Home.
Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, November 11, 2025, at 10:00am at Sunset Hill Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Sunset Hill Memorial Estates.
Her brother-in-law, Roger Russell, will officiate the funeral service.
Memorial donations may be made to Dover Hospice in gratitude for their compassionate care: 300 Hunter Avenue, Suite 107
St. Louis, Missouri 63124
The family is being served by Sunset Hill Funeral Home, 50 Fountain Drive, Glen Carbon, Illinois 62034.
