Obituary for Margaret (Peggy) Ann Kass
Margaret (Peggy) Ann Kass, 80, of Lexington, Kentucky, passed away on November 10, 2025.
Peggy was born in Pontiac, Michigan, to Willard and Lorraine Ryan. She graduated from Walled Lake High School in 1963 and went on to complete a Business Certification program. On April 4, 1964, she married Michael (Mike) David Kass at Our Lady of Refuge Church in Orchard Lake, Michigan. Together, they shared 61 years of marriage filled with love, laughter, and devotion.
Peggy and Mike welcomed two sons: Michael (Mike) David Kass, Jr (60), and Patrick James Kass (57). The family moved to Crystal Falls, Michigan, in 1976 and later settled in Lexington, Kentucky, in 1980.
Peggy worked at Kroger in Lexington for 20 years, where she built lasting friendships with both staff and customers. Known for her kindness and willingness to help, many customers sought out her checkout line just to enjoy a conversation with her. Peggy had a warm heart, a spicy sense of humor, and loved teasing her boys as well as her many nieces and nephews. She and Mike shared a love of shopping together and cherished the many pets they adored throughout their life.
Survivors include:
• Her husband of 61 years, Mike Kass
• Sons Mike Jr. and Patrick (Kristie) Grandson James Kass
• Brothers Pat (Bev) Ryan of Florida and Peter Ryan of Crystal Falls, Michigan
Peggy was preceded in death by her brother and sister-in-law Mike & Pam Ryan, sister-in-law Midge Ryan and her parents Bill and Lorraine Ryan.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 15, at 2:30 p.m. at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home, 3421 Harrodsburg Road, Lexington, KY. Visitation will take place from 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. prior to the service.
