October 15, 1953 - March 18, 2026
Lexington, Kentucky - Patrick Joseph "Joe" Lyons, 72, husband of Virginia Hamilton Lyons, passed away on Wednesday, March 18, 2026, in Lexington, KY. Born on October 15, 1953 in Levittown, NY, he was the son of the late James and Hannah O'Sullivan Lyons. Patrick was a faithful member of Pax Christi Catholic Church in Lexington. He worked as the superintendent for Kearney Hills Golf Links for over 10 years and hosted both the Senior PGA Golf Tournament and the Celebrity Golf Tournament. Along with his wife he is survived by a daughter, Sara (Greg) Yopp, three grandchildren, Marley, Elliot and Sammy; his siblings, Patricia Lisi, Maureen Lyons, James Lyons, Anna (Tony) Grillo, John (Noni) Lyons, Kathleen (Tim) Lawson, Thomas (Jennifer) Lyons, and multiply nieces and nephews. Along with his parents he is also preceded in death by his sister, Mary Lyons Rayborn. A funeral mass for Patrick will be at 12:00PM on Thursday at Pax Christi Catholic Church, 4001 Victoria Way, Lexington, KY 40515. Burial will be in St. Rose Cemetery, 868 Loretto Road, Springfield, KY at 3:00PM on Thursday. Visitation will be from 5:00PM to 8:00PM on Wednesday at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home, 3421 Harrodsburg Road, Lexington, KY. Patrick was a loving husband, father and a friend to all in the community and will be missed by all who knew him.
