Margaret Burkett Knight

Margaret “Maggie” Burkett Knight, 73, of Gaston, passed away on Friday, December 13, 2024. Ms. Knight was born in West Columbia, SC, a daughter of the late Claude Stanmore Burkett and Vesta Louise Rikard Burkett Tucker.

Maggie was a graduate of Batesburg-Leesville High School and Aiken Beauty School. She retired as an office administrator from Reintjes Services. Additionally, she was the owner of Mag-Fred Karaoke. Maggie previously owned a salon in Monetta and then Pelion. She enjoyed sewing, singing, cooking for others, and flower gardening. She especially loved quilting, making quilts for friends and family, and donating them to hospice, memory care units, and other medical care facilities in her community.

She is survived by her daughter, Tamron K. Hall; grandchildren, Joe and Catherine Hall; brothers, Homer Burkett (Wanda) and Calvin Burkett; along with extended family members. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Jody L. Hall (Pam) and sister, Betty Louise Mizzell.

The funeral service for Maggie will be held at 2 PM on Sunday, December 29th at Milton Shealy Funeral Home with burial following in Ridge Spring Cemetery. Pastor Lisa Isenhower will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

The family has requested in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Milton Shealy Funeral Home to help offset her final expenses.
