Margaret R. Madey

Margaret R. Madey, 95, of Windsor, beloved wife of the late Joseph F. Madey passed away peacefully on Monday, November 22, 2021 at her home, surrounded by her loving family. Daughter of the late William and Molly (Fitzpatrick) Ryan, Margaret ("Peg") was employed by CIGNA for many years and ended her career at Connecticut Mutual. Peg was involved in many social, civic and church activities over the years, including president of the Windsor Women's Club, a volunteer with the Summer Winds concert series and attending an annual Women's Day of Prayer service where she met many wonderful women of all faiths. She stayed informed and involved with the issues that impacted the local community and supported many causes that were important to her. Peg loved to be with friends and family and hosted many parties at her home. She loved to cook and entertain and made the most delicious apple pies. She adored her grandsons and loved spending time with them in CT and GA. We will miss the knowledge and wisdom that she shared. She is survived by daughter, Kathleen Moffett and her husband, Daniel of Alpharetta, GA and grandsons, Ryan, and Patrick Moffett of Atlanta, GA. She was predeceased by her son, William (Billy) Madey and brothers William and Gerald Ryan. She is also survived by her late son Billy's lifelong partner, Sheila Lennon and dear friends, Parker and Marie Kimball. A special and heartfelt "thank you" to her wonderful caregivers Sheila, Norma and Lola who took such great care of her during the last months of her life. Her family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 30, 2021 from 10-10:45 AM at Sacred Heart Church, 26 Wintonbury Ave., Bloomfield followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM at Sacred Heart Church.
