Margaret "Margie" Ellen Lawrence Mohr, 84, was called home on September 25, 2025.
Margaret was born on June 8, 1941, in St. Louis, Missouri to Margaret Ellen Marshall and Thomas Donahue Lawrence. In 1959, she married Eugene Thomas Mohr. As an Air Force wife, she traveled extensively with her husband and three children, Laura Lynne, Thomas "Beau" Barthel, and Robert Earl. In 1970, they made Houston their home.
Margie loved taking her children on "adventures", piling everyone into the car and heading out on the open road. This embodied her zest for life and free spirit.
She was fiercely loyal, and could keep anyone in line with a single arched eyebrow.
Margie was very creative. She loved to decorate the restaurants she managed, first Don's Seafood and later Jimmie G's. In retirement, she turned her talents to quilting and creating beautiful keepsakes for her family. She still loved "adventures" with her sister and took every opportunity to spend time with her family.
She is dearly missed, but her family takes comfort in knowing she has been reunited with her younger son, Robert; her parents; her brother, Donnie; and her sister, Sue. Margie is survived by her sister and best friend, Shirley Wentz; her children, Laura Haynes (and partner, Daryl Epperson) and Thomas "Beau" Mohr; and her nephew, Eugene Michael Wentz (and wife, Sue Ann). She also leaves behind two grandchildren, Kristin and Austin Haynes (and wife, Elizabeth); and great-grandchildren, Jack, Ethan, and Hannah.
A celebration of Margie's life will be held on Nov. 3, 2025, at The Settegast-Kopf Company @ Sugar Creek at 10:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Margie's honor to the East Fort Bend Human Needs Ministry.
