Margaret Louise (Anderson) McRae was born to the union of Charles Mack and Johnnie Mae (Floyd) Anderson on December 31, 1947, in Coffee County Georgia.
Margaret attended Revelation Baptist Church where she was baptized in 1961. She later joined and remained a member of St. Mark Missionary Baptist Church.
Margaret graduated from Courter Technical High School in 1967.
In 1968, Margaret married Anthony McRae and to that union, Tamara L. McRae was born in 1971.
Margaret worked at AT&T for almost 30 years before retiring in 1998.
To know Margaret is to love her and understand that she never met a stranger. Margaret was one of a kind, extraordinary person and mother. She had a big heart, and this was reflected in her willingness to help others at any time. She also was very generous sometimes to a fault, but she didn’t let that stop her. She volunteered at Church, the Senior Center in her community or wherever she could be of assistance. She loved music, especially Gospel, taking pictures, grooming plants and flowers, bowling, playing tennis, Scrabble and word puzzles. She cherished her time spent with family and friends. She was good at pulling out her phonebook and calling to check on people near and far. She loved smiling and laughing and eating her sweets! She was just beautiful person inside and out. She was the best mom ever and will be truly missed.
Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, Mack and Johnnie Anderson; brother, James Harold Anderson; stepfather, Allen Jackson; father-in-law, James Ernest McRae; ex-husband, Anthony McRae; brother-in-law, Fred McRae, sister-in-law, Gail McRae.
Margaret leaves to cherish her memory: A devoted daughter, Tamara McRae; sister, Sandra Anderson; brother, Michael (Sue) Jackson; mother-in-law, Marie McRae; nephew, Brian Anderson; great-nephew, Bryshawn Whigham; great-great nephews, Bryson Adams and Ja’Siah Whigham and a host of loving family and friends.
