Jacqueline “Jackie” Harmon McRae, 94, of West Columbia, entered into eternal rest on March 17, 2026. Born on February 26, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Jesse Theodore Harmon and Bonnie Steele Harmon.
Jackie was a proud graduate of Brookland Cayce High School and later attended Winthrop University. She went on to build a long and impactful career with the Internal Revenue Service, retiring with over 40 years of dedicated service. In her later years with the IRS, she worked closely with the Bankruptcy Court, where she was respected for her commitment, professionalism, and kindness.
Outside of her career, Jackie lived a full and joyful life. She loved dancing, gardening, and cooking—especially when it meant gathering her family for holidays and special occasions. Her warmth, generosity, and quiet strength were gifts she shared with all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Olin McKissack McRae, Jr., son, Mark Alan McRae, grandson, Payton Alan McRae, brother, Jack Laverne Harmon, and sister, Shirley Harmon Ware.
Jackie is survived by her son, Olin McKissack McRae, III, of West Columbia, daughter, Katherine McRae Krissinger (Mark) of West Columbia, son, Steven Gregory McRae of Gaston, and grandsons, Jacob Garrison Krissinger of Greenville and Adam McRae Krissinger of West Columbia. She is also lovingly remembered by several additional nieces and nephews, extended family members, and friends.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, March 21, 2026, at McAlister-Smith Funeral Home, located at 200 State Street, West Columbia, SC 29169. The family will receive friends from 11:30am-1:00pm prior to the service at the funeral home.
Interment will follow at Celestial Memorial Gardens in West Columbia, SC.
