Margaret Monsoor Obituary

Margaret Louise Monsoor

1927-2021

Margaret Louise Monsoor, our loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and friend passed away in her sleep on August 8, 2021. She was 94 years old.

Forever the May Queen, Margaret was born May 1, 1927, in Morgantown, West Virginia, to Opal Genevieve Sperandio and Ernest James Sperandio. She was first married to Ralph Malaby, then later married James Joseph Monsoor, Sr. who adopted her two sons from her marriage to Mr. Malaby. She went on to have three more children with Mr. Monsoor.

She is survived by her four children and their spouses: Leigh Anthony Monsoor (Deborah Monsoor, passed), Keith Allan Monsoor, Christine Louise Bangerter (nee Monsoor, Michael Bangerter) James Joseph Monsoor, Jr. (Patricia Helene Monsoor), and Samuel John Monsoor(passed).

She has 16 grandchildren and their spouses/partners: Jeremy Paul Monsoor (Lisa Dawn Monsoor), Toni Lynn Monsoor, Britni Leigh Dixon, Brandon Adam Monsoor (Shawna-Mae Monsoor), Heather Ashley Mendonca (Joseph Mendonca), Thomas Allen Thornburgh, (Alona Alexandrova Thornburgh), Jennifer Marie Pell (Michael Patrick Pell), James Joseph Monsoor III, Elizabeth Helene Monsoor, Jason Bangerter (Dayna Bangerter), Joanie Rendon (nee Bangerter, Ernesto Rendon), Jacoy Holbrook (nee Bangerter, Tyson Holbrook) Jamie Bangerter (Trent Harris) Jonathan Bangerter (Jocelyn Bangerter), and their respective families.

Her great-grandchildren are Charle-Mae Suzanne Monsoor, Everett Michael Monsoor, Henry Raulino Mendonca, Macie Isabella Mendonca, Hudson James Monsoor, Quinn Alexandra Thornburgh, Navaeh Railea Norton, Railynn Leigh Dixon, Lee Anthony Tyra, Ilee Mae Tyra, and Anthony Michael Predmore (Blake Palmer).

Marge's spirit is one that soared– from her days as the Sunrise Country Club manager in Rancho Mirage to her long, successful career as an executive administrator in Silicon Valley and finally retiring to spend time with her family. She was always busy taking care of her loved ones and her Palm Springs community in a variety of leadership roles including PTA president at Cahuilla Elementary School, St. Theresa's Catholic Church Women's Club, and President of the Palm Springs Chapter of the National Charity League. She was a marvelous seamstress with an incredible eye for detail and a generous hostess. Proud of her Italian heritage, she toured Italy (Capri was her favorite) and took every opportunity to savor life and those she loved and embraced being "forever young."

May God bless and keep you always

May your wishes all come true

May you always do for others

And let others do for you

May you build a ladder to the stars

And climb on every rung

And may you stay

Forever young
