Margaret T. Neely

Margaret T. Neely, age 97 of Mantua Twp. passed away on Friday, October 17, 2025. She was born on August 6, 1928 in Atlantic City to the late Jacob F. Ellis and Emma (nee Lacy). Margaret lived in Atlantic City until the age of sixteen then moved to Gloucester County where she graduated from Woodbury High School. She married the late Joseph S. Neely and together raised four children. Margaret worked at the Mantua Bank and later retired from the Bank of Gloucester County. She was a member of Sewell Baptist Church and served in their Berea Class, served on Sewell School's PTO, and worked in the school's lunchroom.
Margaret loved her family & friends and adored her grandchildren & great-grandchildren. She enjoyed camping, hiking, roller skating, reading books, and was always whistling.
Margaret is survived by her daughter, Patricia Cuminale & her husband, Bob of Charlotte, NC; three sons, John C. "Jack" Neely & his wife, Carolynn of Mantua Twp., Joseph S. Neely Jr. of Rosenhayn, and James Neely of Sewell; four grandchildren, Rob Cuminale & his wife, Renee, Jason Neely & his wife, Cheryl, Matthew Neely & his wife, Leslie and Jaclynn Biebel & her husband, Jerry; and great grandchildren, Alice, Rex, Matthew, Amanda, Matthew Jr., Grant, Hunter, and Hanna.
Relatives and friends may visit from 9 am to 11 am on Wednesday, October 22nd at Smith Funeral Home, 47 Main Street, Mantua, NJ where a funeral service will be held at 11 am. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park in Hurffville, NJ.
