Margaret Nelson Obituary

Published by Legacy on May 14, 2025.
Margaret "Peggy" Nelson, our beloved mother and grandmother, died peacefully on May 12, 2025. She was 88 years old. She was caring, generous, joyful, a bit quirky, and just plain fun. She was married to Roy Kenneth Nelson for 60 years. She is preceded in death by her husband, Roy Kenneth, and her son- in-law, Jerry Longman. She is survived by her daughter Brenda Louise Longman (Jerry), son Kenneth David Nelson (Joan) and grandchildren Erik Nelson (Lindsay), Elliot Longman, Anna Nelson (Greg Wu), and Greta Nelson.
One of her greatest gifts was her ability to speak with anyone. She made friends easily and loved to help others. She was generous with her time, money, potato salad and anything else she thought you needed.
She loved travel, Red hatting, laughing, casinos and the occasional margarita. In short, she loved life and she loved others.
Services Monday May 19th at Faith United Methodist Church, 2708 33rd Avenue NE, Minneapolis 55418. Visitation begins at 10am. Service will follow at 11am. Lunch will be served.
The Family asks that any donations be made to The Salvation Army or any other organization of your choice.

I unfortunately never met Peggy, but by knowing her daughter Brenda, I can tell the kind of person she was, very friendly, thoughtful and a good friend. Our Moms are always there with us in our hearts.
