Margaret Nordquist Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Moles Farewell Tributes & Crematory – Bayview Chapel on Dec. 10, 2022.
Margaret "Margo" Mary Nordquist (born Manning) passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 27th at the age of 85 in Bellingham, Washington.
Originally from Verona House Enniscorthy, Co. Wexford, Ireland, she attended nursing school at Whipps Cross Hospital in London and eventually served as a midwife there and in both Cork and Dublin, Ireland.
In 1960, she married Bruce Nordquist of Seattle, WA USA. With Bruce's job as a diplomatic courier in the US Foreign Service, they had several embassy postings over the next several years. Daughter Ann was born 1961 in Frankfurt Germany. In 1963, son Sean was born in Lagos Nigeria. Following a posting in Kingston Jamaica, son Eamon was born Enniscorthy Ireland. After Bruce leaving the Foreign Service, the family settled in Seattle, where son Kevin was born in 1969. In 1971, the family moved to Anchorage, Alaska. Summers were filled with family camping & fishing trips, and gardening (including growing gigantic vegetables in the midnight sun).
After their kids left school and Bruce had retired, Margo and Bruce moved to Bellingham, WA, where they could be closer to all their kids. Bellingham would remain home for the remainder of their lives. Margo continued her love of gardening, knitting, puzzles, and games (often competing into the late night), but above all, Margo was a devoted mother and beloved grandmother. Possessed of a sharp wit and a selfless sense of caring, she was beloved by all who knew her.
Margo was predeceased by her husband Bruce, brother Tom and sister Miriam, and granddaughter Danielle "Dani" Gabriel. She is survived by daughter Ann, sons Sean (Brooke), Eamon (Allison), Kevin (Chrissa), sisters Mary & Patsy, brothers John & Eamon, and grandchildren Brendan (Amy), Ashley (Ben), Josephine (Kallie), Caleb, and Finnegan, and numerous nieces and nephews.
There will be a memorial service held at Sacred Heart Church on Friday December 16th at 11AM
Sacred Heart Parish
1110 14th Street, Bellingham, WA 98225
