Mary Barnhill

1945 - 2026

Our beloved Mary R Barnhill, 80, of Wenatchee, Washington passed away on March 11 at her home in Wenatchee.
Mary was born in Bellingham, Washington to Frank and Ethel Harkness.
Mary was raised on a dairy farm outside of Acme, Washington.
Mary attended Acme grade school and graduated from Mount Baker High School. She then started classes at Western Washington State College where she met her future husband, Lee Barnhill.
Mary was a woman of many talents and held a variety of jobs until she began her career at the Wenatchee public library, where she worked until ill health forced her to retire.
Mary was a forty-year member of the Cascade Unitarian Universalist Fellowship in Wenatchee. She volunteered at the Wenatchee humane society and served as a 4H leader.
Mary is survived by her husband Lee, son Bill, daughter Carol (Jim) Larson, granddaughter Summer Barnhill, great grandchildren Axtyn, Addison, and Tryp; also numerous nephews, nieces, grandnephews and grandnieces.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Frank, John, Richard, sister Virginia Handy, and daughter in law Jana.
Mary had a strong love for her family, books, art, nature-especially the ocean-, animals, watching figure skating, and travel, but most of all she loved people.
Mary will be remembered for her kindness, outgoing personality, and personal warmth.
A celebration of life will be held Saturday April fourth, 2 PM at Cascade Unitarian Universalist Fellowship 1550 Sunset Highway, East Wenatchee.
