Margaret A. "Peggy" Ofria

DRACUT – Margaret A. "Peggy" Ofria, age 88, a resident of Dracut, passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, October 9, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of the late Edward A Ofria.
She was born in Lowell on January 31, 1937, and was the daughter of the late Henry and Margaret (Snow) Sullivan.
Peggy was raised in the Lowell School systems. As a single Mom raising 3 children, she continued her education at Northern Essex Community College, becoming a Registered Nurse. Specializing in eye surgery, she was well known in the Lowell Hospital network. In addition, she dedicated her life to counseling people dealing with substance abuse. She was a devout Catholic and an active member of the St. Francis Parish community where she served as a lector at Mass.
After raising her children, she met the love of her life, Eddie, and enjoyed several years being a Snowbird, doing her needlepoint, crossword puzzles, and playing Cribbage. She still found time to follow her true passion, which was helping people in need. Mostly she loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren who were her pride and joy, along with trying to win her fortune in bingo.
She is survived by her two loving children, Michael Fairbrother and his wife Patricia of Tyngsboro, MA, and Debra Veves and her husband George of Hudson, NH; six grandchildren, Amy Roach and her husband Michael of Woburn, Jessica Conlon and her husband Kevin of Woburn, Matthew Veves and his wife Fio of Virginia, Jamie Veves of Hudson, NH, and Kelly Fairbrother and Haley Fairbrother both of Nashua, NH; four great- grandchildren, Nate, Sam, Braden, and Declan. She is survived by three siblings, Henery Sullivan, Barbara Comier, and Aileen McCarthy as well as Godson, Jon Bozek, and several other nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her son, Wayne Fairbrother, sisters Karen Nielsen and Debbie Nicholson, and brother Neil Sullivan.
Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, October 16, 2025, from 4pm to 7pm at DRACUT FUNERAL HOME, 2159 Lakeview Ave., DRACUT. Her Funeral Mass will be held on Friday at 10am at St. Francis of Assisi Parish, 115 Wheeler Rd., Dracut. Interment will follow in St. Patrick Cemetery, LOWELL.
Memorial donations may be made in Peggy's memory to Hudson NH Special Olympics.
