Margaret Oler Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Moore's Jacksonville Funeral Home - Jacksonville on Jan. 16, 2025.
Margaret Ann Oler, 68, of North Little Rock passed from this life on January 16, 2025. She was born March 18, 1956 in West Africa to the late Elwood Dean Hiatt and Helen Virginia Bancroft Hiatt. Margaret enjoyed reading, crochet and puzzle books. She was a selfless and giving person, often volunteering her time at Murrell Taylor Elementary School. She will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend to many. In addition to her parents, Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Oler in 2016; son, Jeremy Oler; sister, Pat Bayles; and brother, Robert Hiatt.
Margaret was a sweet, very gentle soul, very kind and soft spoken. She lived in some interesting places, as an Army child, entered this world in Ethiopia, then lived in Alaska and Kansas. Margaret had the best childhood memories living in Alaska with her momma. Kansas and Arkansas had to be the most memorable years of her adult life, with being a mother and grandmother to a wonderful family. She has traveled down so many different roads in her life, we could only imagine what wonderful experiences she had. When she wasn't working, she was filling her spare time volunteering at local schools and events. She loved being around friends and being helpful to her community. May Margaret rest in peace, for she has taken her final journey to rest with her beloved husband Edward.
Left the cherish her memory are her children, Katherine Oler of North Little Rock, James Oler of Jacksonville, Randy Oler (Michelle) of Magnolia, Michael Oler (Argentina) of Jonesboro, Jon Oler of North Little Rock and Kellie Oler also of North Little Rock. Other survivors include brother, Hert Hiatt (Jean) of Missouri; grandchildren, Avery, Jada, Michael Jr., Maya, Ella, Jackson and Luke; along with a host of nieces, nephews and extended family.
A memorial gathering will take place on Wednesday, January 29, 2025 from 3:00pm to 4:00pm in the chapel of Moore's Jacksonville Funeral Home.
