Margaret A. Ostrowski

Margaret Ostrowski was called to her heavenly home on March 27, 2026, at the age of 84—a life marked by steadfast faith, quiet strength, and unwavering devotion to her family.

She was born on February 9, 1942, in Wyandotte, Michigan, the eldest of three children born to William Clifford and Loretta Mae (McGuire) Lange. From her earliest days, Margaret’s life was rooted in faith; she was baptized at St. Elizabeth Church on March 1, 1942. She shared her childhood with her beloved siblings, (late) Frances Rita (late C. Allan) Nicholas and Robert David Lange.

In 1966, Margaret and Chester Charles Ostrowski exchanged their vows in the Sacrament of Matrimony at St. Patrick Church. She is lovingly remembered by her children: Christopher (Wendy) Ostrowski, Norrine (S. Peter) Russell, Danielle (Bill) Kramer, Janielle (Marc) Miller, and Andrea Ostrowski. She was a proud grandmother to eight grandchildren: Connor and Courtney Ostrowski; Ethan and Lila Russell; and Will, Lauren, Addison, and Elise Kramer.

Margaret’s commitment to learning and service was evident throughout her life. She graduated from St. Patrick High School, the University of Detroit Mercy, and then completed a one-year dietetic internship at Harper Hospital. Her professional life reflected her caring nature, as she served others through her work at Jennings Memorial Hospital, Grace Northwest Hospital, and the W.I.C. Program of Wayne County. Through these roles, she combined her knowledge, compassion, and discipline to improve the well-being of countless individuals and families.

In her retirement years, Margaret found joy in the simple and meaningful time spent with family and acts of service to others. She enjoyed attending daily mass and she would attend mass at various churches depending on the mass schedule. Following the passing of her devoted husband Chester in 2020 after fifty-three years of marriage, she relocated to Osceola, Indiana, to be near her daughter Janielle Miller. There, she became an active and cherished member of Queen of Peace Parish, continuing to live out her faith in community and service.

Margaret was a woman of remarkable character—deeply organized, responsible, and thoughtful in all that she did. She instilled in her children enduring values for the importance of hard work, family, and a commitment to education. These principles became part of her legacy, carried forward through generations.

Her Catholic faith was the cornerstone of her life. In both times of joy and hardship, Margaret turned to her faith as her guiding light. She embraced a new calling as a full-time prayer warrior, offering her prayers for others with quiet devotion and strength.

Margaret’s life was one of purpose, discipline, and deep love. Her faith sustained her through life’s greatest challenges and shaped the way she cared for those around her. She leaves behind a family grounded in her values, strengthened by her example, and forever grateful for her presence in their lives.

Her legacy is one of faith, family, and faithful service—a life well lived and a soul now at peace in the presence of God.

Family will receive friends on Monday, April 6, 2026, 5-8pm  with a 7pm Rosary at John N. Santeiu & Sons Funeral Home, Garden City. Instate on Tuesday 9:30am at the Church of the Divine Child, Dearborn, MI until time of Mass at 10am. Entombment at Mount Kelley Cemetery. A Mass of Remembrance will be held at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Mishawaka, Indiana later.
