Margaret Austin Parks, 90, of Reidsville, passed away on Thursday, October 19, 2023, at her home.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM, Tuesday, October 24, 2023, at Roselawn Memorial Gardens with Rev. Andrew Brown officiating. The family will receive friends at the home of Mike and Susie Parks.
Margaret was born in Rockingham County to the late Nathan Austin and Beulah Mae Hubbard Austin. She started PG’s Chicken and Biscuits in Reidsville in 1981 and worked there until reluctantly retiring at the age of 80. She enjoyed making clothes for her boys when they were growing up and doing crochet projects. It was no secret that she loved to gamble and would make frequent trips to Cherokee. She loved her grandchildren and was extremely proud of them.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandchildren, Will Parks and Margaret Shannon Parks Talbert.
She is survived by her loving husband, Earl Evans; sons, Mike Parks and wife, Susie, David Parks and Brenda Combs, Steve Parks and wife, Sherri: step children, Annette Stone, Jackie Evans and wife, Cindy; grandchildren, Stephanie Taylor and husband, Brice, Lauren Nicola and husband, Greg and Aileen Drews; great grandchildren, Elle, Elsie, Emerson, Deacon, Dax, Camden, Noah and Lincoln; sister, Judy Whitehead.
