Margaret Virginia Pemberton Mueller

Margaret Virginia Pemberton Mueller of Hondo passed from this life to be with the Lord on Monday, May 16, 2022, at the age of 92.
Margaret, known by many as Virginia, was born in Salesville in Palo Pinto County, on Jan. 2, 1930, the daughter of Amos Jack and Macey Cox Pemberton.
She spent her childhood in Mineral Wells, graduated from Mineral Wells High School May 30, 1946, and moved to Hondo the next day. She then attended Draughn's Business School. Her first job was with Hondo National Bank, where she worked for 10 years. She and Harry Charles Mueller married Oct. 5, 1948, and had celebrated 67 years of marriage. On April 24, 1959, their miracle baby, Lori Michelle, was born. When Lori started school, Virginia began a 28-year career with Hondo Independent School District, serving as secretary for Meyer Elementary School.
Virginia is preceded in death by her parents and husband, as well as her brothers-in-law, Hilmer and Paul Mueller; nephews, Vince Mueller and Bill Pemberton; niece, Marcia Tondre; and her brother and sister-in-law, Amos and Alma Pemberton.
She is survived by her daughter, Lori (Andy) Gilliam; grandchildren, Stacey (Jody) Jacobs, Tracey (Brett) Williams and Andrew (Mindi) Gilliam; and 10 great-grandchildren: Coy, Carynn and Carter Jacobs, Amber, Addie and Jaxson Williams, Ryan, Fisher, Hunter and Emmi Gilliam. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Georgia Ann Pope; nieces, Rebecca Hackebeil, Barbara Zarbano, Trish Stroud; and nephews, Steve Mueller and Ron Pemberton.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, May 21, at First Baptist Church in Hondo, followed later by private interment at D'Hanis WOW Cemetery.
