Margaret C. Powers

Margaret C. Powers, 87, passed away Saturday, December 24, 2011 at Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne. Born in Port Huron, MI on June 21, 1924 she graduated from St. Joseph Hospital of Nursing, Mt Clemons, MI, and worked as a nurse from 1945 to 1947 and then as a homemaker. She was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church and very passionate about the Lord, her church and loved spending time with her family. She enjoyed her indoor plants, gardening, knitting and sewing. She married Thomas J. Powers in Port Huron on June 21, 1947. Surviving are; sons, Michael T. (Linda) Powers of Hudson, John F. Powers of Fort Wayne, Gregory J. (Melinda) Powers of Hendersonville, TN; daughters; Marie C. (George) Stephenson and Kathleen M. Powers, JoAnn M. Powers, Eva M. Powers, all of Fort Wayne, Theresa A. (Mark) Arnold of Lakewood, CO, Elizabeth M. Powers of MN, sisters; Madeline Graw of Ft. Gratiot, MI, Patricia (Bill) Banks of Kalamazoo, MI, Joan (Frederick) Cribbins of Flushing, MI, Mary E. Crimmins of Ft. Gratiot, MI; 17 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren. Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas; sons, Patrick J. Powers and Larry J. Powers; daughter, Ann M. Powers-Golden and sister; Rosemary (George) Piper. Mass of Christian Burial is 10:30 AM, December 29, 2011 at St. Jude Catholic Church with calling one hour prior and Fr. Robert D'Souza officiating. Calling at D.O. McComb and Sons Lakeside Park Funeral Home, 1140 Lake Avenue Wednesday, December 28, 2011 2pm - 5pm & 7pm - 9pm with a Rosary 4:30pm at the funeral home Burial in Catholic Cemetery , Fort Wayne, Indiana.
