MARGARET A. RAMBADT age 94 of Sturgis, Michigan passed away Thursday morning December 31, 2009 at Thurston Woods Village in Sturgis. She was born December 6, 1915 in Kalamazoo, Michigan a daughter to the late Floyd and Etta (Baker) Chapman. Margaret had resided nearly her entire life in Sturgis. On May 19, 1934 she married Edmond Rambadt in LaGrange, Indiana. He died November 27, 1990. She retired from the Kirsch Company in Sturgis following 15 years of employment and she was a dedicated wife mother and grandmother. Margaret was a longtime member of the First United Methodist Church in Sturgis where she was also member of the Afternoon Circle. She and her husband for many years volunteered their time with the Sturgis Hospital Guild. She enjoyed playing cards and loved time with her family especially her grandchildren. She is survived by Two Sons; Stanley (Joyce) Rambadt of Sturgis and Ronald (Carol) Rambadt of Sturgis, 6 Grandchildren; Jeffrey (Betsy) Rambadt of Sturgis, Allison (Daniel) Jeran of Islip, Long Island, New York, Christopher Rambadt of Austin, Minnesota, Amy (Tony) Roberts of Granger, Indiana, Steven (Diane) Rambadt of Columbus, Ohio and Mitchell (Sheryl) Rambadt of Elkhart, Indiana, 19 Great Grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and three brothers. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 P.M. Monday at the Hackman Family Funeral Homes – Hackman Chapel, 114 S. Nottawa St., Sturgis, MI 49091, 269-651-2331. Funeral services celebrating the life of Margaret Rambadt will be held at 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home. The Rev. Robert Keim of the First United Methodist Church in Sturgis will officiate. A graveside committal will follow the service at Oak Lawn Cemetery in Sturgis. The family suggests those wishing to make a memorial donation in Mrs. Rambadt's memory consider the First United Methodist Church, 200 Pleasant Ave., Sturgis, MI 49091, Thurston Woods Village, 307 N. Franks Ave., Sturgis, MI 49091 or Heartland Hospice, 8075 Creekside Dr., Portage, MI 49024.
