Margaret Charlene Ricklefs, 82, passed away unexpectedly at her residence in Oak Grove on April 23, 2025.
Margaret was born the youngest child of Henry and Gertie Schoon on July 19, 1942, in Pocahontas, Iowa. She married Ronald Ricklefs in 1962 and they were blessed with two children, Randall in 1963 and Diane in 1968. They were owners of Ricklefs Draperies in Pocahontas, Iowa for several years before moving to Monett, Missouri in 1989.
After moving to Monett, they continued their involvement in church, making furniture for craft shows and were frequently seen at sporting events and motocross races, cheering on their grandkids. Margaret always came prepared with snacks and encouragement.
Margaret continued working in Monett at Spradling Motors and Jack Henry until finally retiring in 2022 at the age of 79.
Following retirement, Margaret and Ron moved to Oak Grove to be closer to family, where she enjoyed making new friends and getting involved at First Baptist Church of Oak Grove after becoming a widow.
Family was important to Margaret. She was always providing the best advice when asked, willing to help in any way she could, and ready with her delicious cinnamon rolls or potato salad. She enjoyed gardening, reading, and watching a good game on TV with her buddy, Violet, sharing her chair.
Margaret was preceded in death by her parents Henry and Gertie Schoon; her brother and a sister; her son Randy; and her husband Ronald.
She is survived by sister, Louise Hohensee of Monett, MO; daughter, Diane Fletchall (Roger) of Oak Grove; five grandchildren: Mandy Ackerman (Eric) of Aurora, MO, Justin Ricklefs of Webb City, MO, Cody Ricklefs of Centralia, MO, Austin Fletchall (Shelby) of Oak Grove, MO, and Collin Fletchall (Bailey) of Ohio; seven great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Services will be held on May 24, 2025, at First Baptist Church of Oak Grove, with 10:00 a.m. visitation and 11:00 a.m. memorial service.
