Margaret Mae Schellhammer gained her angel wings on November 4, 2023 at the age of 89. She was born August 19, 1934, in Ossian, Iowa to Loren and Erma (Bray) Snitker. Margaret attended Allamakee High School in Lansing, Iowa.
She met her husband Glenn Schellhammer by throwing a snowball at him. They were married in Lansing on April 1, 1950, and were married 66 years. Glenn and Margaret owned and operated the Schellhammer Funeral Homes of West Bend, Mallard and Gilmore City for 52 years.
Margaret loved to cook, and favorites of her children were her cinnamon rolls, pies, dried beef log, potato salad, and her infamous Christmas goodie boxes. Margaret especially enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren attending many sporting events, band and vocal concerts, plays and musicals.
Margaret was an accomplished seamstress and created many dresses, skirts, tops, two wedding dresses and various quilts. She was also an avid card player enjoying bridge and pinochle where her competitive nature appeared.

Margaret is survived by four children, Diane (Bruce) Green, Chandler, AZ, Wayne (Jan) Schellhammer, Urbandale, Iowa, Barbara Maher, Des Moines, IA, Vicki (Mike) Landtiser, Kansas City, MO, along with 13 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and 2 great great-grandchildren. What wonderful memories of Marge and Glenn. Carl and I lived in a little white house between the funeral home and creamery. You kids were quite young so may not remember us. We had a son, Larry, at that time. We spent many hours together playing cards and just being neighbors. Marge was such a great cook and seamstress. Our burial plots are a few rows east of the Schellhammers where Carl is now. So we'll be neighbors again. God's blessing on all of you, you will miss your mom but have so many memories to fall back on.
